Fred Guit
Fred Guit founder of K9 STES, Master Class Coach & instructor of sniffer-, detection and police dogs, started his career at the Dutch royal navy.
“After my career in the navy I started working for the police. As an agent I came into contact with dogs. For 26 years I worked as a dog handler for police surveillance dogs and detection dogs narcotics. After 26 years of loyal service, I was ready for a new challenge: I resigned from the police and went to work abroad.
In the Middle East and the United States I have worked as a dog trainer / working dog instructor and kennel master. I trained bomb explosives detection dogs and surveillance dogs and accompanied foreign dog handlers.
I did these functions on behalf of the King of Jordan, as well as for Blackwater. In addition to these positions, I also worked as a personal security officer in war zones. This position was always in combination with a tracking or search and bite dog.
After working in risk areas for 10 years, I thought it was time to slow down. In 2010 I returned to the Netherlands and started working at Securitas Aviation at Schiphol Airport. Here I worked for 3 years as an instructor for the detection dog handlers who worked with explosives and narcotics detection dogs.
In addition to guiding and training the dog handlers, I also started the project R.E.S.T (remote explosive scent tracing).
After 3 years of loyal service at Securitas Aviation, I started working at K10 Workingdogs.
Here I was a trainer of tracking/detection and bite dogs. These dogs were trained for government institutions at home and abroad, including D.O.D and Customs. Because of my many years of experience and knowledge, I trained for K10 Workingdogs narcotics and money dogs bought by the police in the Maldives. I also went to the Maldives for this project to also train the green dog handlers of the Maldivian police. After this project I started to focus on coaching and guiding students at the Helicon College in Boxtel. Here I have been a weekly guest teacher for the Detective Dogs elective. Finally, in 2017 I started my own company together with my wife, Veronique Guit-de Rooij.
In addition to my practical experience, I have also acquired the necessary theoretical knowledge to be able to deliver quality and professionalism. Below is a small summary of my courses.”
